Our Funny Little Daughter!!!

Abigail is one of the funniest people we know. She is hilarious. Most people don't really get to see this side of her because it sometimes can take a while for her to warm up. I know most parents can relate. Hasn't every parent had someone say "Oh wow...your child is so shy and quiet!" and you're thinking...yeah right!?! That's pretty much the situation here. Abigail is the funniest first thing in the morning and then again after her afternoon nap. Colin and I find ourselves just laughing hysterically. And she LOVES that! It just makes her want to do it again and again just to see us smile. Our little performer:)

Happy New Year, everyone! 2013 was such an incredible year. We feel so blessed. We're looking forward to a wonderful 2014:)

Happy 13 Months, Baby Girl!!!

Our little love is growing up so fast! It is a little sad to see how quickly time passes because we want to cherish every minute, but it has been just so much fun to watch Abigail grow and explore new things. Each month, Abigail seems to be happier and happier because now she can move around and communicate most things that she wants. Her dad and I feel like we are finally getting into a nice groove with Abigail and just maybe are starting to figure this whole parenting thing out.

At 13 months, Abigail weighs about 18lbs 4 oz and is about 29inches long. We don't have her stats, but we went to the cardiologist just a bit ago and those were her numbers at her appointment. Abigail wears size 6 month clothes and is now in size 2-3 diapers. Tada!!!! We have finally moved up a size! I guess technically she could have moved up last month, but we had already purchased a large, Costco size box of size 1-2 so we were trying to finish those off first. Then she started leaking a couple of times on Mommy, so we broke down and bought some new, bigger ones. MUCH better!

Abigail is a walking machine! She moves CONSTANTLY! Pretty much never sits down. We get exhausted just watching her. She doesn't walk slowly either. She basically runs. We're still trying to perfect coordination, though. Abigail falls ALL THE TIME! She'll just be walking one second and then trip. And typically it's over her own two feet or the clothes that she is carrying. But if you try and take away those clothes....watch out...she is not a happy camper. Girl loves clothes! Don't blame her:) While Abigail is much happier walking, it definitely brings about its challenges.  She LOVES the stairs, so we obviously had to gate those or else I think we would spend most of our days going up and down the stairs.

 One of the most exciting things this month was hearing her say "Mama":) Melts my heart every time. We were in the check out line at Walmart and there was this little girl behind us just chatting away...I asked the mom how old she was and she said two. We just can't believe that is going to be our Abigail in the not so distant future! We just love hearing her little voice....awwww....just so sweet!

Abigail is eating pretty well. Abigail mainly wants to eat what you are eating. She will pretty much try most anything, but that doesn't mean she's guaranteed to eat it. Her ultimate most favorite food right now is cheese. You should see her smile when she sees the bag. It's adorable! Cheddar, feta, goat....you name it...she'll eat it. She seems to be going back to some of her old favorites: graham crackers and cheerios. Abigail LOVES raisins and goldfish too. She'll bring you the bags of both. It's really cute. Abigail loves most fruit, especially grapes and grapefruit. She also likes eggs, turkey, french toast, waffles, and pizza. She LOVES chocolate. Just like her mommy:) Abigail is still primarily drinking breast milk, but we've started giving her some whole milk too. And she loves water. She has 3 cups and she enjoys drinking out of all of them...at the same time....:)

Abigail is still our little daredevil. She loves anything wild and crazy: swings, flipping upside down, jumping on the bed & couch....She LOVES to be outside. We've had a couple of milder December days and it's been nice to be able to get out and play. We took her out on the porch the other weekend. It was her first outing on the porch since she started walking. She loved it! She just walked all around, picking up the leaves as she went. It was so cute:)

One of Abigail's favorite games to play is Peak-a-Boo. She's now started covering her own face with either an object or her hands. She even waits for you to say "Where's Abigail???" and then she'll drop the cover with a big smile on her face. It never gets old for her:)

With Abigail's birthday and Christmas this past month, Abigail has gotten an influx of new toys and she is loving it! Her favorites right now are her animal farm, princess castle, Pat the Bunny book, musical beauty mirror, remote and shape sorter/music toy. Just to name a few. Trust us...there is more! She is so cute...she'll go into her playroom and come back holding the little animals and she'll just carry those around. She loves to have something to carry and, for the most part, it's either her animals or clothes in those little hands. Abigail also loves the vacuum. If she's in the other room and she hears it, she'll come running. She'll stay there and watch and then follow you from room to room until you're finished. Colin keeps telling her "This all can be yours one day!" :)

Abigail has been doing pretty well with sleeping. Naps have been a little rougher than usual lately, but night sleeping has been going well other than a couple of nights here and there. We had a couple of hiccups right after Christmas, but she had been a little off of her routine which makes a big difference with her. About 9 times out of 10, though, Abigail will sleep through the night which is about 10-10.5 hours. Halleluiah!!!!

We are just so in love with you, Abigail. You are the sweetest, cutest, most adorable little one ever. We just love spending every second with you. Happy 13 months, little love!!!

Merry Christmas!!!

This was one of my most favorite Christmas'. It was simply perfect! This is the first holiday where we can compare it to last year. So weird! Our baby is getting so old! This Christmas was quite different from her first Christmas. She pretty much slept through her first Christmas and this Christmas....lets just say she didn't really sleep...tiny little nap and then barely any sleep that night. Too much excitement! She didn't want to miss anything!

I, apparently, was too excited the night before. I got up at 3:00am. Crazy! The rest of the family got up at 8:00 like normal people. We opened our family gifts. So fun!!! Colin and I really splurged this year and got Abigail a toy remote, a homemade water bottle shaker and another homemade shaker container. Big spenders:)

Late morning, Nana and G-dad came over for a BIG breakfast. We had homemade cinnamon rolls, chocolate chip pancakes, biscuits and gravy, a sausage, egg and cheese casserole and mimosas. Yum Yum!!! After our delicious breakfast, it was time for more presents.
