| Perfect day for a spin in the convertible!! This picture really captures Abigail: so sweet, happy and full of life!! |
Abigail is such a joy to be around. Even during those "lovable" two year old moments:-) She is so interactive and expressive. It's hilarious to listen to some of the things that come out of her mouth. Just like a girl, Abigail talks nonstop!! Even if you are not talking to her, she will give you a play-by-play of what is going on. "Daddy is brushing his teeth. Daddy spit it out. Daddy is using mouthwash...." It is so funny when we go out somewhere and Abigail suddenly becomes shy....people will ask if she talks and/or comment on how quite she is. Ha!! If they only knew:-)
Abigail really understands SO much. And her memory...goodness...it is just crazy how much she remembers!! Anything from yesterday to over a year ago. It's nuts! We have no idea where she stores it all! Like people say, children really are sponges, ready to soak up everything that is going on. We've really noticed her observing other kids on the playground and then mimicking their behavior. For better or for worse!
It's hard to capture all of the funny or adorble things going on with our sweet, little 2 1/2 year old, but we'll try to bullet point the highlights.
- We just had Abigail's 2 1/2 year check up yesterday. She did AWESOME! No tears and the doctor said she looks great!! Wahoo! Abigail weighs 28lbs (46th percentile) and is 2 ft 11.5 inches tall (60th percentile). Quite a change from the less than 1 percentile she was when she was born!!
- Abigail is potty trained (YAY!!) other than when she is sleeping. She still does not like to go on any potty other than her potty chair. Hoping that changes soon!! Would make life so much easier than trucking her potty chair around everywhere we go!!She did, however, go on the big girl potty at the pool last weekend. Yay!!
- Abigail loves to read. Her favorites right now are Curious George, Max and Maisy books. She can recite them from heart! Even the long Curious George books!
- Abigail is obsessed with her baby doll. She carries her everywhere and even tucks her in at night. Such a good mommy:-)
- Abigail is a snuggle bunny. She loves to cuddle/snuggle lots during the day, which we love!!
- Abigail loves music. She likes anything from classics like Wheels on the Bus to pop music. Her favorite singers/groups right now are One Direction (Night Changes), Taylor Swift (Shake It Off) and Katy Perry (Roar). Basically a teeny bop trapped in a two year old's body:-)
- Abigail loves a routine. We joke and say "See what you do is..." or "That's not what you do." She sometimes has a hard time with things that are new and different, but she seems to be adapting more.
- Abigail really enjoys being outside, whether we are playing in the backyard, going to the playground, watering the flowers/tending to the yard....you name it...she loves it!
- Abigail still plays with her toy eggs a lot. She likes to put little people, objects or balls in them.
- Abigail still refers to herself in the third person. Kinda funny:-)
- We LOVE LOVE LOVE Abigail's voice! We just can't get enough of it (and thankfully we hear it almost the entire day!!) She has the most precious, little chipmunk voice! We know it will change eventually, but for now...we will cherish it:-)
- Whenever we are in the car and we see a red light, we hold hands. She can see the stop light in her mirror so don't think you can get by without holding her hand! When she sees the green light, she'll say "Green means go!!" One of our favorites right now!!
- Every time we hear a siren (ambulance, fire truck, police officer) or see a helicopter, Abigail says "Hope everybody is ok." It comes from when she was in the hospital. Her room was right outside of the Medevac pad so we heard those sounds all of the time. It is so sweet and she truly means it. Abigail is very sensitive to others, which is such a great quality to have.
- Something that makes us laugh...if we or anyone else back the car into the driveway Abigail says that they "Parked the wrong way!"
- We try and teach Abigail good manners. Now whenever she doesn't want something, she'll say "No thank you, love!" Awwww!!!

You bring so much joy in our lives, sweetie, and we love you so very, very much! Happy
ReplyDelete2 1/2 years old, Abigail!
Love,
Nana and G-sad
