Lunch With The Girls

We are blessed to have the BEST aunties and great aunties in our lives. My aunties (my dad's two sisters) have always been a huge part of my life and we're so excited that they get to be such a large part of Abigail's life as well. We try and get together as often as possible. Last week, my two aunties, my mom, Abigail and I met up for lunch to chat and catch up on everything that has been going on. They are SO much fun and I feel like we could sit and gab for hours (and trust me...we have!!!). It was so great to see you, Aunt Ellen and Aunt Linda! Can't wait to do it again soon:-)
Abigail loved spending time with her Auntie Ellen. She especially loved all of Auntie Ellen's jewelry!!!
Awwww....:-)
Can you see Abigail confiscated one of Auntie Ellen's bracelets??? Now she has her eye on Auntie Linda's necklace:-)

Happy 20 Months, Little Love!!!

Just 4 more months and we'll have a two year old on our hands! Weird in so many ways: 1. She'll be two. What??? We know everyone says this, but where did the time go??? and 2. It will be Thanksgiving and we will be in the heart of holiday shopping. So crazy! It's hard to think of Thanksgiving and winter being around the corner when it is in the 90's. Back to the point of this whole post....our little girl is getting older every day. She is such a huge blessing in our lives!
At 20 months, Abigail seems to weigh a ton. Since having heart surgery, Abigail has been growing like a weed. Her weight is increasing, clothes are getting smaller and her hair is growing like crazy! Right now, Abigail wears size 12 month clothes, size 4 diapers and size 4 shoes. Some of her 12 month clothes are starting to get tight. Goodness! We just bought them! Abigail's hair....we LOVE it! It flips out and curls at the bottom just like her daddy's:-) She needs a clip in it to keep it out of her eyes, but every time we put one in, Abigail immediately pulls it out. Maybe she's still rebelling from all of the bows her daddy made her wear when she was younger. Haha:-)

Abigail has had a fun month of traveling. First to the lake and then to the beach. Lucky girl! She has become quite the water baby. We have also made many trips to the pool, which she really enjoys. This is a welcomed change from last year!

Abigail's love of the outdoors continues. She still loves to swing and go to the playground. Two of Abigail's new obsessions are helicopters and planes. She gets SO excited to see either, but especially helicopters. If she even hears a helicopter or plane inside, she goes nuts begging to be taken outside to see it. She even made up her own sign for them! We were reading a book and it just happened to have a helicopter in it and she became obsessed! We couldn't even turn the page! For the past several days, she walks around asking for the book so she can flip to the helicopter page.  Maybe she is going to follow in her cool Uncle Christopher's footsteps and become a pilot!

As for toys, Abigail's favorites of the month are her blocks, babies/strollers and grocery cart. She has become quite the little mommy:-) She enjoys giving her babies some lovin as well as pushing them around in the stroller and even getting in the stroller herself from time to time. Silly girl! Abigail has become a big help in cleaning up her toys, which is a welcomed change:-)

Abigail is still VERY obsessed with spoons. On any given day, she has about 6 that she carries around EVERYWHERE....to the store, playground....you name it! She is a hoot! Abigail still also enjoys playing on G-dad's iPad. She is becoming more and more animated and interactive with the different videos, which is funny to watch. Her favorites are still The Mother Goose Club and Jam With Jaime.

Abigail is talking more. We still melt every time she says "Mama" or "Dada." We love it when she calls us when she is in the other room. She is also eating and sleeping better. She is more willing to try new things, but is still pretty picky. She ate some of our hamburgers the other night, which was a huge shocker. We are in the process of getting Abigail to fall asleep on her own. It has meant lots of tears, but we know it is something that we "have" to do. It's never easy no matter when/if you do it.
Peek-a-boo!
Abigail, we fall more in love with you every day. You are so much fun to be around. You are just the best, most sweetest girl ever. We didn't know it was possible to love someone as much as we love you. We love you THIS (arms stretched out as wide as they can go!!!) much!!! xoxo

Myrtle Beach 2014

We just got back from yet another WONDERFUL time at our annual Harris/Godbold/Klotz family beach trip. Goodness it's hard to get back to reality! Colin and I have both said numerous times how much we miss the beach!
Love this picture! This picture will always make me laugh....Auntie Anna was doing a hilarious dance behind Uncle Kyle to get Abigail to smile. Success! The things we do for babies:-)
Every summer, Nanny graciously takes the entire family to Myrtle Beach. She rents a GORGEOUS house for all 19 of us to stay in. It is a trip we look forward to every year. We always have such a nice time and this year was no different. We had the 3 incredible f's: family, fun and food! We always cherish the time we get to spend with family. We don't get to see many of them as often as we would like so we try and soak it all in.
Abigail LOVED the beach! Phew! The first day, she was quite timid. Abigail was not exactly thrilled with the sand, especially when it got in/on her water shoes. We spent most of the day washing her shoes and feet! Ha! By the end of the week, Abigail was trotting on down to the water before we could even blink an eye. She really enjoyed playing in the water as well as with the bucket of toys we brought down. Her favorite, of course, was having so many fun people to play with. Abigail was never without entertainment! We keep joking that she is going to be awfully bored with just Mom and Dad at home!

We have over 700 pictures combined from our Myrtle Beach trip! Wow! It is hard to narrow them down, but we'll do our best!
So a little about this bucket....this bucket has been a favorite among many members of my family. It belongs to my wonderful dad. My eldest niece, Rebekah, used to climb into this exact bucket when she was Abigail's age. I still remember it like it was yesterday. So funny to see our daughter do the exact same thing!

So blessed to have such wonderful parents/grandparents/great grandparents
Abigail was quite the little Meme's girl at the beach! She can't get enough of her Meme. We don't blame her. She's pretty fantastic:-)
Fun times in the sand:-)

Abigail LOVES her Uncle Jay, Uncle Kyle and Auntie Anna! When Mommy and Daddy says no...ask one of these 3! Smart girl!
Love this picture! It is too cute! Auntie Anna got the job offer she had been waiting on while we were at the beach. Yay! We were SO excited! It was so special that we were able to celebrate with her. Congratulations, Auntie Anna!!!
