Happy 9 months, Abigail!!! So crazy to think that Abigail is 9 months old! Not too much longer and we're going to be saying we have a 1 year old. We can't believe it! Abigail is growing and changing all the time. It seems like every day we think "Oh, that's new!" or "She wasn't doing that yesterday!"
So the BIGGEST change....drum roll please.....suspense is killing you isn't it?!?.....Abigail is sleeping in her crib! Tada!!! Only took 9 months, but we got there! We transitioned her into her crib (ie just put her in there to sleep for the night) and she made it! She still gets up 8,000 times a night and needs/wants you to roll her over or give her the pacifier, but she's in there! Means a little less sleep for Mommy and Daddy, but we're so proud of her!!!! Way to go, big girl!!! So I always thought the whole restless leg syndrome thing was a big myth. Now...not so much... AND we think Abigail has it. Her legs move like crazy when she sleeps. She does several 360s when she sleeps. Every time we look at the monitor, she's in a new position. Remember that lovely bald spot in the back of her head??? Yeah...we think she is going to create an even bigger one soon!
At 9 months, Abigail weighs 15lbs exactly. We finally have a 15 pounder! (She's been in the 14s since the end of May!!!) We go to the pediatrician on September 3rd so we don't know her height or percentiles just yet. Abigail is still in 6 month clothing and size 1 diapers. We're not really sure what size clothing she'll be in in the fall??? At first we thought 9 month clothing, but she's still pretty petite for her age. Still got the big noggin though:)
Abigail has a HUGE personality! She definitely makes her presence known where ever we go. Abigail is quite the talker. Rarely is there a quiet moment in our house. Each week, Abigail figures out something new she can do with her voice and she practices it REGULARLY. If it is ever quiet in our home, Colin or I become concerned and immediately rush to where Abigail is. Is there something wrong with that?!?
Abigail is CONSTANTLY moving. She always has been an active baby. If she's sitting or laying down, she's twirling her arms and feet. Now, her favorite thing to do is stand or take steps while you hold onto her arms/hands. It seems like Abigail might crawl any day. Watch out now! She is able to get up on her hands and knees and rock back and forth, but still no forward movement. She'll typically rock back and forth and then either take a nose dive to the floor or her arms and legs will slide out from under her like a dog that steps onto ice. Not that we're laughing at her or anything...well...yeah we do...it's pretty funny. Abigail is also starting to try and pull herself up. She has almost mastered it, but still requires a little bit of help.
Abigail is very "grabby."...typical baby. If anything is remotely in her reach, she will either grab it or swipe it off the table in one, quick motion. And it happens fast! It always seems to happen when prunes are on the table. Do you know that prunes stain??? It's always something that we typically don't want her to have or would prefer her not to have. Doesn't it always happen that way?
Abigail LOVES jewelry! Smart girl:) She especially loves watches, bracelets, and necklaces. Just a warning though....if you come over wearing a piece of jewelry Abigail will most likely confiscate it...and typically without you knowing it. Quite the little jewelry thief, our Abigail. One minute it's on your wrist and the next you look over and it's in Abigail's mouth:) Abigail also loves cell phones, computers and remotes. Maybe she can teach her not-so-tech savvy mommy one day:)
"The" musical book still reigns as Abigail's favorite toy. Abigail is still in love with her Baby Einstein music toy, her musical puppy and her jumperoo. Abigail has also become quite in love with her V-tech musical book (Thank you, Nana!), her "cell phone" (Thank you, Meme) and her Hello Kitty musical book (Thank you, Great Aunty Susan!).
Abigail still enjoys going on walks. She is tired of sitting in her carseat facing us so now we use the Britax carrier. She loves being able to see everyone and everything going on. That's our noisy little Abigail:)
Abigail is eating well. Bananas, pears and greek yogurt are still her favorite. Something fun and new....she's eating puffs! At first she didn't seem like she was such a fan, but then she found them quite fun and interesting to play with. We'll put a few on her high chair tray and she'll reach for the puffs and they'll get stuck to her hand so then she tries to stick her whole hand in her mouth. Probably about 1 in 5 end up in her mouth, the others on the floor. It's so cute and fun to watch:)
We love you so much, sweet baby girl!!! You are such a joy to be around and we look forward to every moment we get to spend together. You are so adorable and you always bring smiles to our faces. Happy 9 months, little love!!!
9 months have flown by!! I keep up with you all on here, not as good as face to face, but I'll take what I can get :) Love and miss you!
