Happy 9 months, Abigail!!! So crazy to think that Abigail is 9 months old! Not too much longer and we're going to be saying we have a 1 year old. We can't believe it! Abigail is growing and changing all the time. It seems like every day we think "Oh, that's new!" or "She wasn't doing that yesterday!"
So the BIGGEST change....drum roll please.....suspense is killing you isn't it?!?.....Abigail is sleeping in her crib! Tada!!! Only took 9 months, but we got there! We transitioned her into her crib (ie just put her in there to sleep for the night) and she made it! She still gets up 8,000 times a night and needs/wants you to roll her over or give her the pacifier, but she's in there! Means a little less sleep for Mommy and Daddy, but we're so proud of her!!!! Way to go, big girl!!! So I always thought the whole restless leg syndrome thing was a big myth. Now...not so much... AND we think Abigail has it. Her legs move like crazy when she sleeps. She does several 360s when she sleeps. Every time we look at the monitor, she's in a new position. Remember that lovely bald spot in the back of her head??? Yeah...we think she is going to create an even bigger one soon!
At 9 months, Abigail weighs 15lbs exactly. We finally have a 15 pounder! (She's been in the 14s since the end of May!!!) We go to the pediatrician on September 3rd so we don't know her height or percentiles just yet. Abigail is still in 6 month clothing and size 1 diapers. We're not really sure what size clothing she'll be in in the fall??? At first we thought 9 month clothing, but she's still pretty petite for her age. Still got the big noggin though:)
Abigail has a HUGE personality! She definitely makes her presence known where ever we go. Abigail is quite the talker. Rarely is there a quiet moment in our house. Each week, Abigail figures out something new she can do with her voice and she practices it REGULARLY. If it is ever quiet in our home, Colin or I become concerned and immediately rush to where Abigail is. Is there something wrong with that?!?
Abigail is CONSTANTLY moving. She always has been an active baby. If she's sitting or laying down, she's twirling her arms and feet. Now, her favorite thing to do is stand or take steps while you hold onto her arms/hands. It seems like Abigail might crawl any day. Watch out now! She is able to get up on her hands and knees and rock back and forth, but still no forward movement. She'll typically rock back and forth and then either take a nose dive to the floor or her arms and legs will slide out from under her like a dog that steps onto ice. Not that we're laughing at her or anything...well...yeah we do...it's pretty funny. Abigail is also starting to try and pull herself up. She has almost mastered it, but still requires a little bit of help.
Abigail is very "grabby."...typical baby. If anything is remotely in her reach, she will either grab it or swipe it off the table in one, quick motion. And it happens fast! It always seems to happen when prunes are on the table. Do you know that prunes stain??? It's always something that we typically don't want her to have or would prefer her not to have. Doesn't it always happen that way?
Abigail LOVES jewelry! Smart girl:) She especially loves watches, bracelets, and necklaces. Just a warning though....if you come over wearing a piece of jewelry Abigail will most likely confiscate it...and typically without you knowing it. Quite the little jewelry thief, our Abigail. One minute it's on your wrist and the next you look over and it's in Abigail's mouth:) Abigail also loves cell phones, computers and remotes. Maybe she can teach her not-so-tech savvy mommy one day:)
"The" musical book still reigns as Abigail's favorite toy. Abigail is still in love with her Baby Einstein music toy, her musical puppy and her jumperoo. Abigail has also become quite in love with her V-tech musical book (Thank you, Nana!), her "cell phone" (Thank you, Meme) and her Hello Kitty musical book (Thank you, Great Aunty Susan!).
Abigail still enjoys going on walks. She is tired of sitting in her carseat facing us so now we use the Britax carrier. She loves being able to see everyone and everything going on. That's our noisy little Abigail:)
Abigail is eating well. Bananas, pears and greek yogurt are still her favorite. Something fun and new....she's eating puffs! At first she didn't seem like she was such a fan, but then she found them quite fun and interesting to play with. We'll put a few on her high chair tray and she'll reach for the puffs and they'll get stuck to her hand so then she tries to stick her whole hand in her mouth. Probably about 1 in 5 end up in her mouth, the others on the floor. It's so cute and fun to watch:)
We love you so much, sweet baby girl!!! You are such a joy to be around and we look forward to every moment we get to spend together. You are so adorable and you always bring smiles to our faces. Happy 9 months, little love!!!

Weekend At The Lake
The 3 of us went to Lake Anna this past weekend to visit with Nana and G-dad. Yay! While the weather wasn't the nicest, the company sure was. :-) Saturday was pretty much our nicest day. It was a bit chillier than normal for an August day and a bit overcast, but that is perfect weather for Abigail to be outside. We spent a lot of it at the pavilion by the water and the rest of the day we hung out outside at home by the fire pit. Abigail LOVED the fire pit! She was so calm and relaxed...very un-Abigail like! She seemed like she was in a trance!
We had LOTS of yummy food this weekend. Nana and G-dad kindly treated us to the most delicious brunch! Thank you soooo much!!! Abigail did WONDERFUL! It's always a little nerve wracking taking your baby to a fancy restaurant, but Abigail far exceeded our expectations. Maybe Abigail just has expensive taste:) Watch out Daddy...:-)
Thank you SO much for a wonderful weekend, G-dad and Nana!!! We had SO much fun! We can't wait to come back to the lake soon!!!

Our Weekend
We had another wonderful weekend. For us, we consider any weekend we all get to be together a great one. The weather was nice, for the most part. I'm starting to get sad that the warm weather is going to be leaving us soon. It's so nice to be able to grab your flip flops and walk out the door and not have to completely bundle up whenever you want to go any where. We've had an unbelievably mild summer, especially compared to last summer. It already feels like September around here. I guess that's good for Abadaba, though. She is very hot natured, just like her father. She sweats like crazy! We have to keep a towel in her bassinet near her head when she's sleeping because she sweats so much that it soaks her sheets and wakes her up. This way, we can just take the towel out and put her back down. I'm a little bummed because I was planning on blaming Miss Abigail for the scorching temperatures in our house this winter. At least Mia likes it nice and toasty like her mama:)
On Saturday, we attempted to take another walk around Burke Lake...unfortunately, as soon as we got out of the car it started to rain so we decided to take a drive instead. We were initially bummed, but it turned out to be a lovely afternoon. We ended up in downtown Clifton, which is not too far from us. If you haven't been there, it's a cute little country town with a General Store (which that alone lets you know you're in the country!), these adorable little shops and a fun train for the kids to play around on. It was so neat to walk around. We are definitely planning on heading back in the near future.
Abigail has been a little fussy this week because she is teething. Ice cream seems to help A LOT! (With all this fussing, it helps Mommy a lot as well:) So after Abigail's nap, Colin suggested we take a trip to Sweet Frog. Yay! Do you see why I married this man???:-) As parents, you make sacrifices for your children and this is one sacrifice I'm happy to make:) I know, I know...very selfless of me:)
On Sunday, it was take 2 of our walk around Burke Lake. Luckily, it didn't rain this time. We are so thankful to live so close to Burke Lake. The park literally backs up to our neighborhood. We love free entertainment!!!The rest of the day we spent playing with our beautiful little girl. Sad to see the weekend end, but there's always next weekend:)
| Some of these pictures have nothing to do with the text, but we didn't have our camera while we were out:( |
| Such a cutie pie! We can't get enough of that face!!! |

Brushing Abigail's Teeth
We knew we'd have to do it sometime....the dreaded brushing of the teeth. It can't be that bad, right? Well....according to Abigail, it's pure torture:( She absolutely HATES it. To the point where we can't even get the tooth brush any where close to her mouth. Poor little girl. Any chance we can wait until she's older??? We know....we know....must prevent cavities. Ok...so any suggestions???
On a more positive note...we had a GREAT weekend. We're loving this weather! On Saturday, we had lunch with some friends and Sunday we went to Burke Lake for a lovely walk around the park. No pictures, but trust us it was fun:)
