This past week was the annual Harris/Godbold Family Myrtle Beach trip. Colin's parents, brothers and significant others, grandmother, aunts, uncles, cousins, and nephew all come and we stay in one large, beautiful house. There were 13 adults, 3 children and 2 babies. Can you say full house?!? This was to be Abigail's first beach trip. We were so excited (and a little nervous if we're being honest!) to see what Abigail thought. She loved it! Whew!
Colin, Abigail and I headed down on Friday (a day early) just in case we needed to break up the trip. Our plan was to leave at 5:30am when Abigail woke up, but apparently Abigail was sooo excited to hit the road that she got up at 2:00am. At 3:00am, it was apparent that Abigail was NOT going back to sleep any time soon, so we decided to go ahead and pack up the car and head south. Abigail did GREAT in the car. She only slept about 2 hours of the 7 hour trip and the rest of the time she just played. Nice, right? We arrived at 11:30am, which was crazy. In our minds, we pictured getting in around dark, if we made it at all. We had the whole day ahead of us, which was so nice. First stop was lunch over looking the ocean. It was Abigail's first high chair experience and she loved it! The rest of the day we spent walking on the beach and taking some much needed naps.

| Can you tell Abigail is loving the high chair??? I don't think she could be any more excited to be at the beach:) |

Saturday, the whole crew started strolling in. It was SO great to see everyone! The anticipation of this beach trip had been building so I think we were all excited for it to begin. Most days basically went like this: wake up (some of us a little earlier than others...not mentioning any names...ABIGAIL!!!:-) ), breakfast, beach, lunch, beach/pool, dinner, hanging out on the porch.. It was PERFECT!
This year was going to be a little different than our annual beach trips because we had 2 babies on board: Abigail and our adorable little nephew, Clark, who is 8 weeks old. Many of us were meeting Clark for the first time at the beach so we were super excited. I'd say Abigail and Clark hit it off right off the bat:)

Abigail seemed to really enjoy the beach. We set up a large tent and put a baby pool underneath. Abigail enjoyed going for walks, playing in her baby pool and playing in the ocean. She would splash the ocean water in her face and then lick her lips. It was so funny! I guess she loved the saltiness of it. Abigail also enjoyed sitting in the little ocean pools and picking up the sand. She of course tried to eat it many times, but quickly learned that sand is not for eating! It was so nice to have so many helpful, loving hands at the beach. Let's just say Abigail was definitely well entertained:)
