Happy 8 Months, Baby Girl!!!

Our little Abadaba is 8 months old!!! I think I'm in denial. I'm finding it quite difficult to admit that she's growing up....and quickly at that. Where did our 5lb little baby go??? It seemed like she has grown up over night. Whenever we go out, people always comment on how cute she is (I must say we'd have to agree with them:-)) and inevitably they ask us how hold Abigail is. This entire week, I found myself saying 7 months....not almost 8 months....or even 7 and 1/2 months....I simply said 7 and I think I continued to say 7 until the clock struck 10:31am on the 28th. Is that weird??? We LOVE watching Abigail grow and change, BUT sometimes I think it's just a little too fast for me. Colin mentioned the other day that he is excited for Abigail to crawl. Me...not so much. That is a HUGE milestone and yes....I know she has to do it one day....but does that mean she won't want to be held as much??? Yes, I do like to get things done from time to time, but I LOVE holding her. I think I kiss her head and cheeks 8,000 times a day. I can't help it. She's just so darn cute:) Ok....back to her happy 8 month post:)
Makes us smile every time we look at that face:)
At 8 months, Abigail weighs 14 lbs 6oz and is in about the 7th percentile. Abigail is still wearing her 6 month summer gear and is finally transitioning from her 3 month sleepwear to her 6 month sleepwear due to the length being too small. Abigail continues to wear size 1 diapers.
This month, Abigail got her first teeth!!! Yes...plural!!! She started with her bottom center left tooth and her bottom center right tooth quickly followed. We think her top left tooth is coming in, but Abigail is not the most cooperative baby when you're trying to sneak a peak:)
Abigail had her first beach trip this month! We all had such a blast! Colin and I definitely love the beach and we think Abigail is following in our foot steps. We've only been back a week and the 3 of us are already ready to go back!
The whole gang from the beach:)

Having a blast with Daddy:)
We also went to the lake a couple of times this month. We always have such a great time. Abigail had her first 4th of July there, which was SO much fun:)
Abigail still loves to get out every day and see what's going on in the world. I think she just gets bored when she just stays home. Mommy and Daddy aren't THAT boring are we?!? The 3 of us definitely went out a bunch this month. Colin and I took Abigail out to eat several times (and she did GREAT!). It was so much fun! It was her first highchair experience. She LOVED it! AND Abigail sat in the grocery cart for the first time this past week. Normally I just use the stroller or stick her carseat in the cart, but this time I put her in the cart with an adorable cart cover we received at our shower. It was awesome! I had so much more room for our groceries!!! Who knew?!? Abigail loved being able to keep an eye on everyone and everything from her new seat:) Quick diversion....while Abigail and I were at Costco, 2 women stopped us so that they could ewww and awwww at Abigail. Then another cart stopped and then another....soon there were 4 carts stopped and we were blocking the entire main isle just so people could look at Abigail and tell me how cute she is. Abigail definitely knows how to cause a traffic jam!!! Ok....no more bragging....for now....:)
I'd stop too just to stare at that adorable face:)
Abigail's favorite toy is still her musical book. We'd say her 2nd favorite is now her singing doggy followed by her Baby Einstein musical toy. She also LOVES her jumperoo. She goes crazy in there now! We try and put her in there a lot during the day hoping that she'd tire herself out and sleep better:) Abigail also loves to sit up in her pack n' play and play with some of her toys. It's nice that she is able to entertain herself for a few minutes here and there.
Sharing her Bumbo with her doggy:)
Abigail babbles like crazy! She's definitely a talker. I wonder where she gets that from?!?:) Abigail seems to babble the most after she drinks her milk. She'll hold onto her bottle and just "Baaa baa baaa." Definitely makes us laugh every time:)

Abigail has tried a couple of new foods. She tried a pickle, orange, and lemon at the beach and seemed to really like them. (They were whole pieces...she did not eat them, just mouthed them.) She LOVED the saltiness of the pickle and didn't even make a face when she tried the lemon, which was surprising!  Her favorites are still bananas, pears, and greek yogurt and a new one.....jarred prunes! We also recently tried a jar of sweet potatoes and chicken. (I puree all of Abigail's food, but there's something about pureeing meat that just doesn't sit well with me!) Abigail seemed to like it! We were shocked! We've been trying to get her to eat more high calorie foods to help her gain weight...she's not exactly thrilled with avocados, but she'll definitely eat it if it has prunes, bananas or pears on top of it. Abigail mainly wants what we are eating. If we're eating slices of apples, oranges, pears, etc. we'll hold onto a piece and let her mouth it. Abigail threw quite the temper tantrum when Mommy wouldn't let her have some of her chocolate granola bar. Colin and I thought it was hilarious. I wonder where she gets her sweet tooth from?!?
Can you tell Abigail likes to eat?!?
Abigail's sleep is still pretty much the same....ie....she doesn't sleep much. She has had a couple of good nights though. Progress, people!!! She does go down, though, for all of her naps so that's a big hurdle! As long as she gets a decent afternoon nap and Mommy and Daddy get a little bit of a break, we're aok!

Abigail has the sweetest, most incredible smile. It makes us melt every time we look at her. You can be having the worst day and just one look at that face.....ahhhhh.....it just really puts everything into perspective for us. And that laugh????....there's nothing better. Colin and I were so happy and in love before, but Abigail just really elevates it all. We are so thankful and over the moon over our little family:)
Look at these two! Abigail loves her Uncle Kyle:) Are they the cutest or what?!?
Happy 8 months, little love!!!! We're all for you growing up and all, but can you try and make time go a little slower for us??? We love you more than anything, sweet girl!!! xoxo

Abigail's 1st Beach Trip!

This past week was the annual Harris/Godbold Family Myrtle Beach trip. Colin's parents, brothers and significant others, grandmother, aunts, uncles, cousins, and nephew all come and we stay in one large, beautiful house. There were 13 adults, 3 children and 2 babies. Can you say full house?!? This was to be Abigail's first beach trip. We were so excited (and a little nervous if we're being honest!) to see what Abigail thought. She loved it! Whew!

Colin, Abigail and I headed down on Friday (a day early) just in case we needed to break up the trip. Our plan was to leave at 5:30am when Abigail woke up, but apparently Abigail was sooo excited to hit the road that she got up at 2:00am. At 3:00am, it was apparent that Abigail was NOT going back to sleep any time soon, so we decided to go ahead and pack up the car and head south. Abigail did GREAT in the car. She only slept about 2 hours of the 7 hour trip and the rest of the time she just played. Nice, right? We arrived at 11:30am, which was crazy. In our minds, we pictured getting in around dark, if we made it at all. We had the whole day ahead of us, which was so nice. First stop was lunch over looking the ocean. It was Abigail's first high chair experience and she loved it! The rest of the day we spent walking on the beach and taking some much needed naps.

Can you tell Abigail is loving the high chair??? I don't think she could be any more excited to be at the beach:)

A much needed family nap.
Look at me!!! I'm at the beach!!!!
Saturday, the whole crew started strolling in. It was SO great to see everyone! The anticipation of this beach trip had been building so I think we were all excited for it to begin.  Most days basically went like this: wake up (some of us a little earlier than others...not mentioning any names...ABIGAIL!!!:-) ), breakfast, beach, lunch, beach/pool, dinner, hanging out on the porch.. It was PERFECT!

This year was going to be a little different than our annual beach trips because we had 2 babies on board: Abigail and our adorable little nephew, Clark, who is 8 weeks old. Many of us were meeting Clark for the first time at the beach so we were super excited. I'd say Abigail and Clark hit it off right off the bat:)
Love the way they are looking and smiling at eachother!

Proud new parents with our little ones:)
Both grandbabies in one house...I think Meme and Granddad are in Heaven!

Love the way Clark is looking at Meme. Awww!!!!!
Abigail seemed to really enjoy the beach. We set up a large tent and put a baby pool underneath. Abigail enjoyed going for walks, playing in her baby pool and playing in the ocean. She would splash the ocean water in her face and then lick her lips. It was so funny! I guess she loved the saltiness of it. Abigail also enjoyed sitting in the little ocean pools and picking up the sand. She of course tried to eat it many times, but quickly learned that sand is not for eating! It was so nice to have so many helpful, loving hands at the beach. Let's just say Abigail was definitely well entertained:)
Abigail LOVES her Aunty Anna! You should see the way she lights up every time Abigail sees her:)
