Celebrating Our Baby Girl!

We had SO much fun celebrating this beautiful, little girl ALL weekend long!! We baked all day Friday and sampled a lot too;-) One of the benefits of being the chef, right?!?

Happy Birthday, baby girl!!

On Saturday, we went to Nan and Geed's condo. We had a blast! We ate a yummy breakfast, played on the playground, went bowling, swimming....it was great!! So so fun! Best of all, Abigail was all smiles all day:-)

On Sunday we went out to a yummy brunch (Abigail's choice) and played outside most of the day. Monday was the BIG day!! Abigail chose what we did all day long, which was so much fun for her. One of her favorites was going out to lunch at one of her favorite restaurants, Sweet Water. Yum! And opening her presents, of course:-) Topped off with going out for ice cream. Life is good!

I wish you could see her face when she opened up all of her presents. You never quite know what is going to be a hit and what is not. This year, I'd say we did pretty well. She seemed to love every single present. The last one most of all!

Baking With My Baby!

Abigail and I made birthday cupcakes (and a cake!) together!! She is quite the baker! She did almost all of it herself! Cracked the eggs and everything! Chocolate cupcakes with 3 different types of frosting (chocolate fudge, Nutella and a ganache frosting) and a Nutella filling. All chocolate, of course;-)

Thanksgiving In Richmond!

We hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! We went to Richmond this year to celebrate. Meme and Grandad were so kind to host again this year. We had such a wonderful day spending time as a family. I apologize in advance...we do not have many pictures. The day flew by and we had to leave earlier than expected due to one adorable little guy who would not nap and we were afraid he would fall asleep in the car and be up all night (ie what happened the day before! He had been up since 3 am. Good times!). So sadly we do not have pictures of everyone:( We enjoyed being together as a family and are so thankful for each and every one of the special people in our lives. 

We rode down to Richmond in style! Colin got a Tesla two days before. Something he is MOST excited about. Abigail might even be more excited!!

Abigail's birthday is on Monday and everyone was so kind to celebrate early with her!

Happy 4th Birthday, Abigail!!

Our baby is 4!!! Ahhhh!! Sooo crazy to believe we have a 4 year old, although sometimes it feels as though Abigail is 4 going on 16!! We love our little (ok big) girl SOOO much!!!

 Our Abigail...how do we even describe her at this age? Abigail is lovable, snugly, adorable, loud, active, funny, silly, smart, sensitive, sweet, sassy, inquisitive....we could go on and on!!At 4 Abigail weighs 35.5lbs (55th percentile) and is 40 inches tall (57th percentile). Abigail wears primarily size 4T clothing but can still fit into a lot of her 3T clothes.

It's been such a big year for this little girl! Probably the biggest change is Abigail became a big sister!! Whoop whoop!! Abigail is such a great big sister. Just recently Abigail said that she is so glad that we had another baby. Awww:-) Adding another baby into the family is such a big transition and Abigail has done wonderful!!

Abigail is hilarious! Abigail is a super funny and silly girl! She loves to make anyone and everyone laugh, including Colby. Who, by the way, finds her to be the funniest person ever!! Abigail just looks at him and he laughs! The two of them together...just precious! It is so cute to watch them intentionally playing together and interacting. Not gonna lie...it's not always so cute. We're still working lots (and lots and lots!!) on sharing. ;-)

Abigail LOVES to sing and dance! Anything and everything can become a microphone and she's ready to perform! Abigail likes to sing LOUD! We're still working on singing vs screaming! Ha! Abigail is constantly running around singing something! She loves for you to video tape her and then she immediately asks you if she can watch it!

Abigail has lots (and lots and lots!!) of energy and loves to run around, but she also enjoys calm activities too.  Abigail has always loved books, many of which she can "read" to you because she has memorized them! Abigail loves to sit, snuggle and read. She goes through different phases where we'll read the same book over and over and over again. Abigail is not the biggest fan of change, so.....

Speaking of change....Abigail took her first class by herself this year!! Abigail took swim lessons! This was a challenge for her and for us. We were not in the room with her so this was hard. The first 3 lessons, Abigail cried hysterically the ENTIRE time. Then she actually started enjoying them, but the last 4 lessons (out of 12) she cried again. She had a new instructor for the last 6 lessons and this instructor actually made her do stuff  (go figure! ha-ha!) like go underwater so she wasn't such a fan of that. Abigail has a very hard time being away from Colin and I (and not being with Grandparents!!). We are working on it. Abigail is already talking about how she does not want to go to school. I overheard her telling her friend Grant that "Mommy is going to ride the school bus with me and stay at school with me!" Hmmmmm....

Abigail is super close to her grandparents!! She loves them with all of her heart!! We love that they are such a big part of her life and Colby's!! Abigail's favorite is when "all 8" of us are in the same room!!! So sweet!! Grandparents are the best!!

Abigail loves to write. A few months ago Abigail started writing her name. Abigail also loves various art projects and sensory activities. She has become quite the artist!! Says her nonbiased, oh so proud parents;-)

Abigail asks questions ALL. DAY. LONG!! Very inquisitive, that girl of ours:-)

Abigail is very into fashion. She loves to pick out her own clothes/shoes and our clothes too, especially Colin's!! Abigail has an incredible memory and she will tell you about something that happened forever ago and include what people wore!! Abigail has already picked out Daddy's Easter outfit for next year. FYI Colin is going to wear his yellow polo shirt because he wore it last year;-)

Abigail is super sensitive! She gets her feelings hurt easily. We hate to see her cry and get upset:( Abigail is very concerned for others feelings too. She always wants to make sure that we are happy. So sweet!! Abigail loves to snuggle, which is just the best!! Snug bugs from our little girl are the best!!

Abigail, You are the sweetest, happiest little girl ever! We are so blessed to be your mommy and daddy! We are so very proud of you!! We love you SO SO SO much!! Happy Birthday, Sweet Baby Girl!!!
