How are you already 5 months, Colbykins?!? You and your sweet sister are growing up too fast!! Colin and I were just saying that times flies even faster with the second child. One minute Colby was so teeny tiny and his clothes were falling off of him and the next, he's this adorable big boy with the most lovable rolls!! We can't get enough of our chunky monkey<3
At 5 months, Colby weighs 16lbs 1 oz (as of a week ago). I would have guessed even higher because I basically need a fork lift to pick Colby up in his car seat! Big boy!! Colby is still in 3 month clothing and in size 2 diapers, although we are getting ready to change to a size 3. At 5 months, Abigail weighed 12lbs and was in size 0-3 month clothes. Quite a difference!
Colby and Abigail at 5 months<3
Colby has always been a very alert baby. He loves to be held or ride around in the carrier and see what he can see. My favorite, though, is when he is tired and he lays his sweet little head in the crook of our necks. Awwww....it's just the best<3 Most of the time though, Colby is wide eyed, being very observant. Colby still loves to be on the go, exploring different surroundings. Playgrounds are especially fun because of all the action and, of course, Abigail keeps Colby super entertained:-)
Colby is the silliest rolly polly. If Colby is on the ground (or in his crib), he is constantly rolling from one side to the other. His favorite thing to do right now is roll onto his belly. If you put him down, he will roll onto his belly within seconds, which is adorable when he is awake, but not so much when we are trying to get him to sleep! More on that in a minute! When on his belly, Colby has started pulling his knees under him and scooting along like an inch warm! It's so cute!
Colby loves his jumperoo!! It keeps him entertained for a long time!! Colby is all smiles when he is in his jumperoo! If you are holding Colby with his feet on the ground, he basically uses you as a human jumperoo and bounces up and down repeatedly!! It's hilarious!
Speaking of Colby's smiles.....just the cutest thing ever!! He melts our hearts every time we see that cute little face and that big smile. And that dimple...awwww.....just want to kiss his sweet face!!
Colby still adores his wonderful big sister! He has the biggest smile whenever he sees her! Abigail is SO good with her baby brother and VERY helpful to her mommy and daddy! We love their relationship! It is so cute to see the two of them together<3

We took Colby out of his podster in his crib so now he is laying flat. Never a fun transition for any baby!! We had Colby on an incline because of his acid reflux but thankfully Colby's acid reflux is getting MUCH better. We are almost finished weening him off of the medication so that made the transition to laying flat a lot easier. As you know, Colby is not the best sleeper and it was progressively getting worse to where he was up for hours many of nights. It was not good for him and it was not good for us. Sooo....we decided we had to act now. About a week ago, we started "sleep training" Colby. (I hate that phrase by the way. It sounds so militant!!) We now do our normal bedtime routine with Colby and then we put him down completely awake. It took some time for Colby (and us) to get used to, but now it typically takes Colby about 5-10 minutes to fall asleep! He actually adjusted to it WAY better than we thought. The hardest thing for us right now is Colby LOVES to roll over on his belly. So as soon as Colby gets in his crib now, he rolls on his belly and then magically
forgets how to roll back over. Funny how that works, right?!? Haha. We end up rolling him back on his back, but inevitably Colby ends up on his belly to sleep one way or another no matter how many times we roll him back. Colby sleeps for MUCH longer stretches and is now able to put himself back to sleep during some. We are still trying to figure out some of the middle of the night wakings, but it's only a few times so we have come a LONG way in a week so we are very thankful!! Colby has been such a different baby this past week. He is sooo much happier and cries sooo much less. Same goes for Colin and I ;-)
We cannot express how much we love our precious Colby Colbs!! Colby, you are such a blessing to us!! We love you more than words can describe! Happy 5 months, sweet baby boy!!
