"Cool Cart"

Abigail has asked several times if she can ride in one of those car carts. I typically say no because they are such a pain to push but on Friday I said yes. She was SOOO excited!! She kept calling it a "cool cart!" And she, of course,remembered sitting in this type of car in her cardiologist's office. "Just like the car in Dr. Rudra's office!" Girl does not forget a thing!

Father's Day Weekend

We had a wonderful Father's Day weekend. We tried to fill it with as many fun things Colin would enjoy as possible. He does sooo much for our family, so it is nice to spoil him!!

On Saturday, we started the day with a yummy breakfast of eggs and homemade sausage and cheese crescent rolls (which were so yummy!!). Then we headed off to Pohick Bay Regional Park for some fun play playin on the playground and, of course, a picnic because a weekend is not a weekend anymore for Abigail without a picnic!

The park is so peaceful. The playground was really cool and over looks the Potomac. We did a little bit of exploring, but Abigail was very focused on getting our picnic started!

Father's Day weekend also meant lots of golf and baseball. Abigail was getting into it!

Sunday, Father's Day, we did our usual snuggles in bed. Love! Then we went downstairs to whip up a yummy breakfast. Colin requested bacon pancakes so we did a big batch of bacon AND chocolate chip pancakes. Mmmmm!!! After that we headed to the Farmer's Market, one of our favorite things to do. The rest of the day we just played and relaxed. Later in the day G-dad and Nana came over for dinner. Yay!! Meme and Granddad were unable to come this year. We missed you, Meme and Granddad!!

Such a great Father's Day weekend! We loved celebrating all of the wonderful fathers in our lives:-)

Colin and I are so lucky to have the BEST dads! They are awesome! They introduced Colin and I so, of course, we are forever grateful! They have always been so involved in our lives and we are so blessed to have them big a big part of Abigail's life as well. They are so loving and caring and we appreciate all that they have done (and continue to do!) for us and our family.

Colin is exactly how I pictured him as a dad...just incredible. Anyone who knows Colin knows what a wonderful person he is. He is the type of person who makes you strive to be better. He is patient, compassionate, kind....I could go on forever. Abigail is so lucky to have him as her daddy, as am I!! :-)

Dear Friends

I have known Ali and Michelle since I was born (well...technically since Ali was born!). We been life long friends. We get together at least once a month to chat and catch up on each of our lives. Normally we meet at Sweet Frog (yum!!). Sometimes it's dinner. Sometimes drinks. I'll let you guess which place Abigail and I prefer to meet up at!

Now Ali is having a baby. So special. And she's having a girl. Aww!!! We can only hope our girls will be just as close as we are:-)

Dinner With G-dad

G-dad joined us for dinner on Friday night! Yay! We loved having him!! Abigail was so excited and has been talking about it ever since! We ate dinner, played with bubbles and even had popsicles outside. All around fun night! We enjoyed spending the evening with you, G-dad!!

This Girl Is a Hoot!

Big Girl Potty!!

Last week, all of a sudden Abigail decided that she did not want to go pee pee on her potty any more. She normally goes potty right before we leave the house and the morning and when we asked her to go, she just started crying saying "No potty!!" At first we thought "Ok...she just doesn't have to go." Then it just continued on like that for days. She would scream hysterically every time we asked her to go potty and she even had an accident. We thought maybe she had a bladder infection?? Something had to be going on!

So then we went out on Sunday to watch the airplanes. In true Stephanie fashion I had to go to the bathroom. In true Abigail fashion, she had to come. She was sitting there in the bathroom doing the potty dance saying she didn't have to go over and over again. I could tell she was getting ready to have an accident so I just picked her up real quick and put her on the potty. Success! Phew!!

When we came home, she went back to saying she didn't have to potty. Then all of a sudden, she said she wanted to go on "Mommy's potty." And she did! We gave her 3 whole M&Ms for going on the big girl potty, so naturally Abigail had to go potty again right away! Since then, she has been going potty on "Mommy's potty" aka The Big Girl Potty ever since! Yay!!! Hope this means we don't have to carry around the potty chair any more!

Picnic and Airplanes

Abigail has been asking to go on another picnic since our picnic last weekend with Meme and Granddad. Apparently this girl enjoys eating outside! Abigail also loves airplanes so we tried to combine two of Abigail's favorites in one day! We took Abigail to Daingerfield Island in Alexandria first to go watch the airplanes. It is a beautiful marina that is right by Reagan Airport so we were able to see all of the sailboats while we watched the airplanes take off and land. We even saw an orange helicopter! Bonus!!

 So cute!!

Then we headed to an awesome playground in Old Town. It was so fun!! The playground was super nice and it was directly across from the water and has several picnic benches. We had such a gorgeous view! It was such a fun day!

Wonderful Babysitters

Nana and G-dad kindly watched our baby girl while Colin and I went out for a bit. Abigail had so much fun, as always! Colin and I came home to a happy little girl and an entire stuffed crust pizza (our favorite!) for us to enjoy another night!! How awesome are they?!? Thank you, Nana and G-dad!!!

Lollipop fun!

Abigail loves going to the dry cleaners. Strange, right?!? It's not so much the dry cleaners, it's more the lollipop she gets to pick out every time she goes. She rarely eats one. She just likes to hold it. And if she does "eat" one, she takes a few licks and then plays with it the rest of the time. It makes a sticky mess, but it's so worth it to see that smile of hers and watch her have such a great time!

Family Time!

Meme, Granddad and Uncle Jay came to visit this past weekend. Yay! We had sooo much fun!! Abigail has not stopped talking about how much fun she had! Colin and I definitely agree with her! It was pretty perfect!

It was beautiful out so we packed a picnic and headed into downtown Clifton. Clifton is a quaint, little town. It has cute little shops and a very old towny feel. We love it! They have a very cool playground with picnic benches near by so it was a perfect set up for our lunch. A little play followed by some yummy food.

Coincidentally, there is a delicious mom and pop style ice cream shop about a minute away. Wow...it's like someone planned it that way:-) Of course we had to go! It was delicious and a great way to cool down in the 90 degree heat!

We had a few minutes to play play in the backyard before Abigail went down for her nap. She certainly made the most of it! Abigail and Granddad sat on the back porch steps for quite a long time while Granddad sang nursery rhymes to her. So cute!!

Abigail was so excited to see her Uncle Jay when she got up from her nap! She had been waiting for him all day! After a quick snack, we went to our neighborhood playground for a bit and then headed out to get some Mexican food!
