Neighborhood Easter Egg Hunt

We love our neighborhood for many reasons. They do so many fun activities, especially for all of the children. One of them being the annual South Run Easter Egg Hunt. It was supposed to be last weekend. The weather was perfect! It was sunny, warm.....but they delayed it due to all of the rain the day before. It was rescheduled for this past Saturday. We got even more rain last week so the fields were even worse than before AND it was freezing!!!! But...they didn't want to reschedule it yet again so they decided to hold it in the pool parking lot. At the time of the hunt, it was 32 degrees and with windchill it felt in the 20's. Brrrr!!! We had an awesome time anyways.
All bundled up!
At first she wanted to open each one that she picked up, but then she got the hang it and just put it in her bucket to open up later. Each kid got to pick up 15 eggs so it was great for the younger kiddos that can't move as fast as those big kids!

After the Easter Egg hunt, they had lots of fun snacks and toys/games for the kids. They had also set up a huge crafts table, but it was so windy that everything was flying into the pond. They scratched that idea and decided to save all of the crafts until next year. The event was a huge hit! We all had a great time!

Abigail is completely obsessed with eggs so this was the perfect activity for her. Abigail couldn't wait to get home to find out what was in her eggs!

Waking Up

When Abigail gets up from her nap, we pick a snack and head to the couch to snuggle. We love this time of day. Normally she sits on our laps and tells us EVERYTHING that has been going on and on her mind since we put her down:-) Abigail is so expressive! We just love our conversations with her. You never have to wonder what that girl is thinking! Pretty much the only time during the day you'll see this girl sit still! :-)

Our Little Cheerleader

We are huge sports fans in this house, especially football and basketball. Abigail doesn't exactly watch sports (or anything for that matter except Sesame Street), but she does love to cheer for our respective teams as she is running from room to room!! Abigail can recognize a UVA and Tennessee emblem anywhere! That a girl! She loves to sing Rocky Top and The Good Old Song (our school songs) and she definitely understands touch down! We're trying to get her into basketball now!! Just in time for the big tournament. Go Wahoos!!!
Come on Virginia!!

Fun in Richmond!!

We went to Richmond on Sunday for the day. It was so much fun! We had lots to celebrate. Uncle Jay's birthday was the week before, Granddad's birthday is next weekend and Nanny came to visit! Yay!!! We spent the day with lots and lots of family, which is just the way we like it! The day flew by. When we're leaving, we always wish we had more time!

Hanging with G-dad!

G-dad came over again to babysit Abigail while I had to go out. Abigail LOVES it when G-dad comes over!! All she kept talking about was how her and G-dad were going to have lunch together, just the two of them! Awwww:-) When I came home, Abigail was in bed and everything was all cleaned up. Wow! You're hired, G-dad!! Thank you so much for watching our sweet baby girl!!
They are SO cute together!! Such a special bond:-)

Date Night!

Nana and G-dad graciously offered to take our sweet Abigail for the night so Colin and I could have a date night! We hate leaving her! We know it is good to have our adult time together, but it is always SO hard to be away from her. Luckily we knew she was in great hands!!
Pictures from Nana and G-dad's camera

While we missed Abigail dearly, we had such a wonderful time together. We called it our little staycation! We didn't do anything too crazy...just a delicious dinner at home (lobster, shrimp and homemade lava cakes...YUM!) and a movie. It was perfect!! How quickly you forget how nice it is to finish an entire sentence to your spouse during dinner!! We tried to sleep late, but of course we were up early. Doesn't it always seem to work that way??? During the week, we're dragging ourselves out of bed but on the weekend...pop!!! Up like a Poptart!!!
We met our little love, Nana and G-dad the following day for a delicious lunch. We were SO excited to see our Abadabs! And Nana and G-dad too, of course! Nana had washed all of Abigail's clothes and G-dad placed some Krispy Kreme doughnuts (my favorite!!) in our backseat for a little treat when we got home! Love them!! It was a perfect way to end a perfect date! Thank you sooo much, Nana and G-dad for taking such great care of our little girl!!!

Abigail Is Potty Trained!!!

As of about a week and a half ago!! Yay Abigail!! She has been doing great!! Abigail wears big girl underwear at all times except for during her nap and at night. This was especially scary the first time we ventured out without a diaper. Eekkk!! BUT she did great! She even tells us when she needs to go or will just go on her own. No more lengthy potty sessions. Thank goodness!! She's on and off in less than 30 seconds. Quick little peanut!! Abigail primarily goes on her potty chair. The adult potty seems to be a little scary for her, although she has done it. We are so so proud of our little love (as always!!!)!!!
Catching up on her reading:-)
(This was taken a couple of weeks ago while she was still being potty trained)

Playground In The Winter

It was pretty cold this past weekend, but we decided to brave the cold, bundle up and head to the playground. One of the 3 of us was wearing 4 pairs of pants, 4 shirts and a jacket. I'll let you guess who that was.:-)
We even took her wheels out for another spin!
Check out Abigail's new boots. Are they the cutest or what?!? Perfect colors!!! Thank you, Nana!!!
It was so nice to be able to get outside. We are counting down the days until Spring!!!!
