Such a Dainty Lady!

We are starting to get the hang of this whole potty training thing....sort of. At home, Abigail is just in underwear and we take her to the potty several times a day. Yesterday, she went pee pee on the potty every time. No accidents! No wet diapers!! Yay!!! She even asked to go potty for the first time!!! She is starting to feel when she needs to go. We don't always make it to the potty, but....Progress!!!

She makes us smile (and laugh!!) even sitting on the potty. Gosh...I could just squeeze her!! 

Riding Around In My Automobile!

Abigail's first ride!! Nana and G-dad gave it to her for Christmas. She loves it! It plays music and everything. Abigail will be riding around and then stop....play some music and then start dancing. It's hilarious!!

Girlie Girl

Abigail is quite the girlie girl. She loves shoes, clothes, jewelry… you name it. Abigail loves to wear my shoes, especially high heels. She can seriously walk in heels better than I can!  Abigail is also quite the fashionista. She is very opinionated about what she wears as well as what her daddy wears. She picks out almost all of daddy’s outfits. Right now, she feels daddy looks best in blues and oranges:-)

  Abigail enjoys looking at jewelry, wearing jewelry, holding jewelry, touching it….any and all things jewelry! The other day she  asked me to make a bracelet and necklace out of Play Doh, which she continued to wear around the house for so long that it dried up!!  

 

Snow Day!!

We got snow!! Yay snow day!!! Colin still had to work, but at least it was from home! We even managed to drag him outside for a little bit of fun! It was FREEZING, but we still had a good time!!

She decided to forgo the snow and asked to swing instead. She was so bundled up she almost got stuck in the swing!!

 Such a fun day! We love having Daddy home with us!!

Fun Week With Friends

Last week was filled with lots of fun get togethers with some of my best girlfriends.  Some new and some old, but all so very dear. Love spending time with these ladies and their kiddos!

On Wednesday night, Abigail and I got together with Jillian, Heather and Heather's adorable son, William, over at Jillian's house. It was just like our college days with Jillian in the kitchen fixing TONS of food for all of us! She seriously spoils us rotten!! Abigail made herself right at home and left no item untouched in Jill's house:-)

 On Thursday, Abigail and I headed over to Jaime's house for a fun play date with Jaime's beautiful girls, Samantha and Avery. Jaime has been one of my best friends since high school. We always have such a great time when we are together. AND the three young girls play together SO well! They are just the sweetest to watch! Love it!

Then we finished the week off with a fun library class with Susan and Grant. I met Susan about a year ago. We instantly clicked. She's just one of those people you feel like you've known forever. Abigail and I get together with Susan and Grant at least once a week. Abigail and Grant are buddies. They tell each other they love the other and everything. Sooo adorable!!

Quick Trip To Richmond!

Colin, Abigail and I drove to Richmond on Monday to see Uncle Chris, Auntie Teresa and Clark, who flew all the way from Vegas to visit!! Unfortunately that day, the weather was calling for 8-12 inches of snow so we couldn't stay for long, but we at least wanted to see everyone, even if it was just for a bit!!!

Auntie Anna, Uncle Kyle and Uncle Jay even took the day off so we could all hang out! SO nice of them!! We all visited at Meme and Granddad's house for a little while (Meme and Granddad had to work. So sad!!) and then we went to Meme's office to say hi! Granddad, unfortunately, had a full day of appointments so we didn't get to see him:(

Even though it was a quick visit we still had a wonderful time seeing our family!! We can't wait to see everyone again very soon!!

Potty Training Update

So basically...it's not going to well. We are pretty much exactly where we started. After about 3 HOURS on the potty this morning AND still no potty, we got her up and put her in a pull up. Within minutes, she peed. Why didn't we get her off the potty sooner you ask??? Every time she sits on the potty, she just doesn't seem to go. But then AS SOON as we take her off, she has an accident. It happened more than 3 times yesterday. We just sat there thinking "She has to go. She'll go any minute." Nope!

Pretty much sums up how we were all feeling!!

So then we tried a different approach. Let her tell us when she has to go potty. Not so much. We are still trying some what but we've basically come to the conclusion that she is not quite ready. Many people say that their child will let them know when they are ready. We just don't really see that happening with Abigail. She has a hard time with change. Abigail would wear the same pajamas every. single. night. if we let her. And that's just one of many examples. So we think she will need a little push when it comes to potty training, but...this seems a little ridiculous. We'll keep giving her opportunities and one day (hopefully soon!!!) she'll get the hang of it!!

Happy Valentine's Day!!

It's been an interesting Valentine's Day so far. We decided to start potty training Abigail. Not the most romantic thing to do on Valentine's Day, but....it needs to be done. So far we've had 2 successes and 3 accidents and LOTS of tears!!

She went almost immediately first thing in the morning so we were thinking "Hey! This is easy!!" Yeah...not so much. We had 3 accidents in a row right after that AFTER sitting on the potty for over an hour each!!! Ugh!!

It hasn't been all business today. We've been having lots of fun too!! Daddy surprised us with some delicious donuts and then he fixed us some of his famous chocolate chip pancakes too!! Donuts and pancakes…Mommy’s type of breakfast!!
