Our Own Little Pizzeria!

We love pizza! Definitely one of our favorite meals. We really enjoy making it at home (although delivery is pretty awesome too!). Such a fun activity to do with Abigail, not to mention delicious! Always an added bonus when Abigail will actually eat the meal we fix!

Abigail was doing SO well helping until we pulled out the cheese. Then she was done helping and onto eating! She literally ate almost half of our cheese. Grate a little, put it on the pizza, Abigail eats it off....and repeat!

Notice how the pizza keeps getting progressively further away. Yet you can still see her little, chubby hand reaching for more cheese!

Let It Snow!!

Daddy is home!!! Yay!! Love snow days!! Last year Abigail hated the snow. Literally screamed her head off the moment we stepped out. This year....she loved it!! Phew!! We took her sledding for the first time. It was a big hit!!

Meme and Granddad Come To Visit!

We LOVE it when Meme and Granddad come to visit us!! Abigail was excited all week! Abigail was quick to show them all of her toys in her playroom. Her most favorite right now is her kitchen. Abigail has quite the imagination. It is just precious to watch. Abigail got right to fixing Meme and Granddad a delicious "meal." Mmmmmm:-)

Speaking of cooking....Meme and Granddad brought some delicious cookies to bake after lunch. Do they know Abigail or what?!? Abigail had such a great time. What a fun activity! Perfect for Abigail! Our little baker:-)

Daddy's Girl

Abigail LOVES her daddy SOOO much!!! Her mommy is quite fond of him too! She runs to greet him whenever she hears his keys in the door.  The two of them have the most special bond. It is just the sweetest to watch them together. Nothing makes me happier than being with these two! Lucky gal...yes I am:-)

Abigail and Her Uncle Jay

Abigail really enjoys books. One of her favorites right now is Pout Pout Fish, which her Uncle Jay gave her for Christmas. We read it all the time! It combines two of Abigail's favorite things: fish and books. If you haven't read it (and have small children), it's adorable! Thank you, Uncle Jay!!!

One thing Abigail loves more than books is her Uncle Jay. Jay just sent me this picture of the two of them from Christmas. The two of them are just adorable! Abigail loves hanging out with her Uncle Jay:-)

Helicopters

Abigail loves helicopters. She's been pretty obsessed with them for a while. She loves to look at them in the sky, play with toy ones, listen to them...all of it! Every morning before Daddy goes to work, they look at helicopters on the computer together. It's adorable. The pink one right now is her favorite:-)

Not so coincidentally, Abigail's room was right outside of the medevac pad while Abigail was in the hospital. Whenever we heard one coming, we took her to the window to look at it. This was big because Abigail for a while, Abigail did not feel well enough to get out of bed. Now whenever Abigail ever hears a helicopter, she'll say "Help people with boo boos." The other morning while we were sitting there playing with Play Doh, we heard a helicopter. Abigail said her usual "Help people with boo boos" and then said "No hospital. No open heart. No Mommy and Daddy bye bye."  Apparently she still remembers everything quite well. She didn't say it in a "I'm scared" way....more of a "this is matter of fact" way. Kind of took us by surprise. I guess we should have suspected her to remember it. Abigail has the craziest memory! It was a huge part of her life and, of course, our lives as well. One that I think we all came out changed and stronger than ever! 

So in honor of Abigail's love of helicopters and airplanes, we took her to the Air and Space Museum. It was incredible! Soooo many planes!! It is seriously so neat. It is a perfect place to take children. Super educational and lots and lots of open space to run. Great activity for the winter months. Who knows.....maybe Abigail will be flying a helicopter one day helping people with their boo boos:-)

Safety First

Caution: reading books and playing with blocks can be dangerous! Haha We were not sure if Abigail was going to be a fan of wearing her bike helmet or not, but apparently she is quite fond of it! After our bike ride to the playground, Abigail wants to where her helmet all the time!!!

Wonderful Family

Thank you so much for all of the wonderful birthday wishes!! I had a very nice birthday. On Thursday, Colin took the day off of work (my favorite present!) and we went to our favorite sushi restaurant. The rest of the day we just hung out and spent time together as a family. It was sooo nice! I have the most wonderful hubby and daughter. Colin went out of his way to make this birthday special. He is seriously the best husband ever! And hearing Abigail sing Happy Birthday....just precious!!!

Then on Saturday morning, we left to head to the lake to spent time with Nana and G-dad. We mentioned to Abigail earlier in the week that we were going to the lake that weekend....her face lit up. She was SOOO excited!! Literally talked about it ALL week!

On the way to the lake, we stopped by a country store, something Colin and I LOVE to do. Reminds us of when we went to Vermont. Then off to the lake we went!

Saturday was a nice and relaxing day. We enjoyed a delicious lunch and then spent most of the day chatting, playing and watching football. Abigail spent a majority of her time in her high chair playing with Play Doh. It’s her favorite activity of the month. Nana bought her a huge bucket full of play doh and various “tools” and shapes so Abigail was loving it!

On Sunday, my parents took us out to a super fancy brunch. They took us there last year for my birthday and we’ve been counting down the days until we could go again. The food is DELICIOUS!! And the atmosphere…just gorgeous.  Definitely the fanciest restaurant Abigail has ever been to! She was on her best behavior and even became friends with one of the waitresses:-) We’re already ready to go back!! Hint hint Nana and G-dad!!
