Happy 2nd Birthday, Little Love!!

Oh my goodness!!! Our baby is 2!!! It is just so hard to believe!!! Our sweet little angel is growing up so fast right before our eyes. We just want to video tape each and every moment in our lives just so we don't miss anything!
We could just eat her up!!!
At 2 years old, Abigail weighs 26lbs (58th percentile) and is 33.5" tall (53rd percentile). Abigail wears size 18 month clothes, size 4.5 shoe and size 4 diaper. Abigail is still growing like a weed. She feels SOOO heavy, but we know that she is still smaller than kids her age!! Gone are the days when we can fix dinner with her in our arms (although sometimes she still wants that!!!).

Abigail is just the sweetest little girl. She is such a happy, silly toddler. She literally wakes up with a smile on her face with energy rearing to go. Recently when we go in her room to wake her up, she says our names and then immediately gets up and starts jumping in her crib! AND she goes ALL.DAY.LONG!!! Where she gets that energy??? I'm not sure, but I know there are many days we want to borrow some!
So silly!!!
Abigail loves to play. Play with you, her toys, her friends, play outside, with the computer, Play-Doh....just as long as she is playing. Abigail is still in love with G-dad's iPad. Some of her new favorites include playing with Play-Doh and coloring. Abigail is becoming quite good at recognizing and labeling her primary colors and a few letters. She can say some of her ABC's (our favorite is "lmno" as if it is one letter...so cute!) and count to 10. Abigail also enjoys being a mommy to her baby dolls and snuggling with her cow and doggie. Abigail loves jewelry, clothes, hair accessories....pretty much most things girlie:-)

Abigail talks, talks, talks all day long. Just like her daddy. haha:-) The only time she is quiet is when strangers talk to her when we are out. Of course then they always say what a quiet girl she is. If they only knew:-)

There is just something special about the joy you get from watching your child grow up. For us, it is happening in a blink of an eye. It is such an honor to be your mommy and daddy, little love. You are such a blessing in our lives. We love you THIS much (arms stretched out as wide as they will go!) and then some!!!! Happy 2nd birthday, sweet baby girl!!!

Missing Daddy

We love our mornings together. One of our favorites is our snuggle time together as a family after we get Abigail up. Within minutes of waking up, Abigail is doing something funny to make us laugh. She is seriously a silly goose right from the get go.

After our cuddle time, we head downstairs for breakfast and play time. During the week, Abigail helps daddy check the traffic cameras before he heads out the door. Then we give daddy kisses and wave to him as he leaves (and count down til the weekend!!!)
We love you, Daddy!!!
This week, Daddy is in France. It's the first time he's been away from Abigail for more than a day. It's tough. We miss him like crazy. Abigail walks around saying "Daddy" constantly.:( Hurry home, Daddy!!! We love you!!!

Fun Weekend

Colin and I went to my cousin's wedding on Saturday, so Meme and Granddad kindly came up to take care of Abigail. It was so nice to be able to visit with them before we left. Abigail was SOOO excited to see them! She immediately wanted them to start chasing her around with her "pop pop." We're sure that they are still sore from running after her!

The wedding was AWESOME! So much fun! It was so great to see and spend time with lots of family! The bride looked gorgeous and it was obvious how much fun everyone was having!
The girl cousins! Not too often do I feel short!!!
It was also obvious how much fun Abigail had with her Meme and Granddad. The first words out of Abigail's mouth when we got her up the next morning were Meme and Granddad! She then proceeded to tell us everything they did, even laughing while telling certain details. So cute!

A big thank you to Meme and Granddad for taking such great care of Abigail and a big thank you Aunt Linda and Uncle Barry for a beautiful wedding!!!

6 Months Post Op

We had Abigail's 6 month post op cadriologist appointment today. These appointments are always nerve wracking because 1.) we worry they will find something wrong and 2.) we know how much these appointments upset her. We talked to Abigail about seeing the cardiologist a lot this past week...what they will do....hoping this would prepare her. She really seemed to understand, but as soon as we were called back, she lost it....huge meltdown. :(

The echocardiogram went ok. Her Atrial Septal Defect and Ventricular Septal Defect look good. The repair is still in tact. Great news! There is no additional leakage from her Mitral Valve, but there is about a 25% chance that the tear could get larger and she will need another surgery to repair it. We were not expecting this. The percentage was a lot higher than we were thinking or prepared for. The thought of going through another heart surgery is just devastating.
As for now, Abigail is a very healthy and happy little girl. She is doing EXCELLENT! We have faith in Abigail's doctors and most importantly, God. We will continue to pray and think positive thoughts. We love you more than anything in the entire world, baby girl!!!

Chatterbox

I think almost every girl I know has done this at least once. My parents would attest that I had two phones attached to my ear at least once a day. Good thing cell phones were just coming out towards the end of high school... otherwise it might have been three!!! Guess this is genetic too:-)

Happy Halloween!!!

This may be Abigail's new favorite holiday. Walking around outside collecting candy from neighbors??? Pure perfection according to Abigail! We went to a few neighbors' houses and then to a party right down the street. We weren't sure what she was going to think, but she loved it! Lots of fun had by all. Not surprisingly, she asked for candy the following day before we even had breakfast. She has a sweet tooth like her mommy! Surprisingly, we didn't have as many trick-or-treaters this year. What ever are we going to do with all of the left over candy?!? :-)
"Let's go get some candy!!!"
                                                      Cutest ladybug we've ever seen:-)

We practiced saying "Trick-or-treat" over and over again all day. Of course she was silent at every neighbors' door we went up to. She did, however, manage to collect a piece or three of candy from each:-)
"Finally! Time to dig into that candy!!!"
