Happy 21 Months, Little Love!!!

Abigail is 21 months old!!! Her mom and I really cannot believe how big she is getting. Just recently, we were watching a video from shortly before her surgery. In the video, her hair is short, she is a lot skinnier, and she just looks so much smaller. That was only 4 months ago.
When I look at Abigail now, I see a little kid. I am not sure when she went from a baby to a toddler, but it seems like she has flown through the toddler stage and is now a little kid. She still wears size 4 diapers and 12-month clothes, but both are getting much more snug on her. Her shoe size is 4.5, but she will need size 5 soon. She hasn't been to the doctor in a while, thank goodness, so we don't know her exact weight. However, based on our bathroom scale, she weighs 24.5 lbs. Such a big girl!

Abigail is talking a lot. She is doing great saying Mama, Dada, Nana, and Meme. When you ask her her name, she says either "Abi" or "Abba". Just the sweetest. She is also improving on G-Dad and Granddad. She is really trying to expand her vocabulary lately. Some new words and phrases are "I'm stuck," "Mailman," "go," "hi," "good girl," "Hi Dad," and "umbrella," "airplane," "bye bye," "golf cart,"trash truck," and "baby." I am sure I am forgetting a few as she is learning new words every day. When I get home from work, Stephanie will try and get Abigail to tell me what word or phrase they have been working on. Sometimes I understand and sometimes I have no clue. Either way, it is great to see her try.
Our summer continues to fly by. We are trying to get outside and enjoy the warm weather as much as possible. Abigail loves to go to the many playgrounds in our area or head to the pool. She really is fearless in the water. Abigail will not hesitate to jump right into the pool or lake, regardless if we are ready to catch her or not. We definitely have to keep a close eye on her.

One of Abigail's newest obsessions is bows. Hence all of the bows in the pictures. This is not her mother's doing (for once!). She doesn't exactly like to wear them (despite her mother's persistence!); rather, she likes to play with them. Abigail doesn't keep them in her hair for long, but she loves to switch one bow for another. Her hair is getting so long so she certainly needs a clip to keep the hair out of her eyes. Her mother is hopeful that Abigail will start wearing them again. Especially since we have A LOT of them!
Feeding the doggie
Another newish development with Abigail is how good she is at putting herself to sleep. We still have a nap routine and a nighttime routine. However, the length of time we spend trying to put Abigail down has decreased dramatically. Abigail is almost always awake when we put her down and she only cries occasionally. Usually, she will just put herself to sleep after flopping around her crib for a little while (I am typing this with my fingers crossed so that I don't jinx us). This new development has certainly helped with the sanity of Abigail's parents.

Abigail, you continue to grow up so fast. You are such a fun and happy little girl. You constantly have your mom and I either saying how cute or how funny you are. We love you so much. No matter how big you get, you will always be our baby girl!

Someone Likes Sweets

And it's not just me:-) One of both, Colin and I's favorite candies are Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. So yum! After lunch we decided we wanted something sweet. We just happened to have a bag of the Reese's Minis at our house. We gave Abigail one. Do you think she liked it???
Mmmmmmmm

"I'll take the bag please!"

Weekend At The Lake

This may have been our last weekend at the lake this summer:( How sad!!! Where has our summer gone??? It has flown by! We LOVE going to the lake, whatever the season, but summer is definitely our favorite. So many fun activities to choose from! AND we'll use any excuse to see Nana and G-dad:-)

Abigail had her first boat ride this trip! We were a little nervous about whether or not she would like it. Turns out she loves it! Highlight of the entire boat ride....seeing a helicopter:-)
Family time on the boat!

                             Snuggle time on the boat:-)
Our three captions to the right:-)
                                      Love that smile!!!                                        My loves:-)

Abigail certainly loves her Nana:-)

This girl is a hoot! One minute she's grilling with G-dad and the next she's stealing all of the Ladder Ball equipment!
This girl is too much!!! She was teasing G-dad with her bedtime bottle and then running away laughing. It was hysterical! Abigail loves her G-dad! (Which she says constantly now. Awwww.....)
The weekend went by way too quickly, as it always seems to do. We had a wonderful time, Nana and G-dad!!! Thank you so much for having us!!!

Sunday Fun Day:-)

We had a wonderful weekend!!! It is always a great weekend when it involves lots of family time as far as we are concerned.:-) Meme, Granddad, Nana and G-dad came over on Sunday for all of us to spend the day together. Earlier in the week, Colin and I told Abigail that they were all coming over. For the rest of the week, Abigail carried around a picture of the four of them from our wedding. To say she was excited is an understatement. As soon as they left, Abigail went and got the picture again and started pointing to all of them. She was so sad to see them go. Colin and I were too:( Abigail is still walking around with "her" picture saying all of their names. So sweet! There is nothing better than spending the day with family!
What a good looking bunch!!!
Abigail said Nana and Meme earlier this week for the first time!! What perfect timing! It is just the sweetest sound:-)
The fantastic G-dad and Granddad relaxing on the porch! Abigail tries to say G-dad and Granddad....the "g" sound is a little more complex so it comes out as Dat Dat for both. Awwww:-)
Abigail is showing everyone her new favorite Youtube video of Wheels On The Bus. She LOVES it when the baby goes "Wah wah wah!" Love her expression:-)
Abigail didn't get much attention, did she?!? Haha
We are so lucky and blessed to have the most wonderful parents/grandparents ever! We had such a fun day together! We love you guys!!!

Burke Lake

We LOVE going to Burke Lake. We especially love the fact that it is basically in our backyard. We go A LOT! Just a hop, skip and a jump and we are at one of our most favorite parks. There are so many different things to do: various playgrounds, going on the train, canoeing, feeding the ducks, hiking, going on the carousel...list goes on. This past visit, we went to the playground and then took a fun train ride. Abigail loved it!

Another wonderful weekend as a family:-)

The Long Awaited Dinner

This month has been filled with lots of fun time with the family. Nothing better and more special than that. The other night Nana, G-dad, Uncle Pat, Auntie Courtney, Rebekah, Joshua, Bailey, Lincoln, Sawyer, Levi, Colin, Abigail and I gathered to celebrate Nana's birthday (a VERY belated birthday celebration!). It has been WAY too long since we have seen them so it was so nice to be able to spend time and catch up on what has been going on in all of our lives. It was such a wonderful evening together and it was great to be able to celebrate Nana no matter how late!

Dinner With Nana and G-dad

Nana and G-dad came over for dinner earlier this week. Yay! We love it when Nana and G-dad came over to visit! Abigail was certainly excited and loved all of the attention! We first took a trip to the playground and then it was back to the playroom to show Nana and G-dad her book with a helicopter in it. She showed it to them over and over and over......again:-)
                    Swinging with her Nana:-)
Always fun playing with Nana and G-dad!
G-dad had a great idea and brought up a video of a helicopter on his phone. Abigail was fascinated!!!!
Can you tell??? I'm not sure she could get any closer:-)
"Hi helicopter!!!"
This is her signing helicopter! So funny! Love that she totally made up her own sign!
We always love spending time with Nana and G-dad! Thanks for joining us for dinner, Nana and G-dad! We love you!!! xoxo
