| Cool dude:) |
Abigail is eating food now!!! Yay! Abigail eats solid food 3x a day in addition to 4-5 milk feedings. (Most of the time lately she just passes out before her 7:45pm "snack".) We've tried bananas, pears, sweet potatoes, peas, rice cereal, applesauce, mango, cauliflower, plain greek yogurt, potatoes and eggs. Out of all of those, she'll pretty much only eat bananas, pears and greek yogurt. Picky little girl:) If you give her something that she doesn't like, she'll spit it in her hands and then wipe it all over her face! Needless to say, we are having to bathe her a little more frequently! Abigail also makes this funny gagging sound and face just to make sure you know she doesn't like it! We are definitely surprised that she doesn't like a couple of the foods we've tried. We thought FOR SURE she would like applesauce....I mean...what kid doesn't like applesauce??? The peas...yeah...one can assume a baby is not going to like those...they don't look appealing in the least, but applesauce and sweet potatoes??? We're still feeding her from the Bumbo, but we don't think a high chair is too far off. During dinner, we sit her in the middle of the table. Cute little centerpiece, don't you think?!?
Abigail is getting better at sitting up on her own every day. She can sit up and reach and hold onto toys and various objects, as well as transfer an object from one hand to another. Be careful what you put within her reach, because she'll likely grab it and put it in her mouth:) She loves foil, plastic bags...pretty much anything that crinkles and makes noise. She'll still topple over with a quickness, or a care in the world, so you really have to stay right next to her.
Abigail still has pretty much the same favorite toys. By far, her most favorite toy is still her musical book that lights up. She gets a big smile across her face whenever she sees it. Abigail also still loves her Baby Einstein music/light toy and her elephant with crinkly ears. Some new favorites are her doggy that sings and plays music, her play mat, and her jumperoo and yup...you guessed it....they all light up and play music. Can you sense a pattern??? One of her other favorite things is the hair dryer. It seems to soothe her, which is nice because otherwise I think I would always have wet hair! Above all, she would rather be held than anything else so if you can hold her AND she can play with one of her favorite toys....she's one happy baby...of course there are always exceptions...:)
Abigail is getting a little...and I stress little...better at sleeping. She is currently sleeping in a bassinet with a changing table inside next to our bed. Why the changing table you ask??? It creates a crevice to help her to sleep and stay on her side. That is her favorite way to sleep. She can also sleep on her back. If she sleeps on her back, she always puts her arms over her head. So cute:) When she wakes up in the middle of the night (which is frequent), I just pull her back over onto her side and she'll typically go back to sleep. Sometimes it takes a second and just one roll over and other times I have to roll her over a gazillion times...yup...gazillion is a word:) Abigail goes down at about 7:45-8:00pm and is pretty much awake or is waking up SEVERAL times by 4:00am or 5:00am, but we try not to get her out of bed until 6:00am or sometime after if possible. Sometimes it works and sometimes not so much.
Abigail is extremely nosy and observant. If you're doing something, she wants to know about it. We think that may be a part of her sleeping problem....she just doesn't want to miss out on anything:) Abigail loves to sit on the front porch and watch all of the cars go by. We think she may run for president of the neighborhood watch. She certainly knows what's going on:)
Abigail started going to church this past month. Unfortunately she's having a rough time with being in the nursery. When Colin and I dropped her off last week, Abigail was the first one there. When we left, Colin made the joke that the nursery woman should call in for backup because she didn't know what she was getting herself into! Little did we know how true this statement would be. When we went to go pick her up, she was in total meltdown mode. Neither one of us had ever seen her like that. (I mean...she's melted down with us plenty of times...don't get us wrong...but just not like THAT.) Apparently she was like that for most of the time. So this Sunday we're going to try something different and keep her with us. She has a new friend that stays during the service so hopefully they can keep eachother entertained! (They're only a week apart...so cute!) They play a lot of music in the first half so hopefully she'll like that! We'll see how it goes:)
Abigail still loves to be out and about, whether it's going on walks or going to the store. She loves to see all of the new people and surroundings so we try and schedule at least one outing a day. I think it's good for Mommy's sanity as well:)
Happy 7 months, Little Love! You bring so much joy to our lives. We miss you like crazy if we're apart for only a second. You always bring a smile to our face. We love you SO SO SO much! xoxo
