Happy 7 Months, Abigail!!!

Happy 7 months, Baby Girl!!! We know we keep saying this, but time is seriously flying by. It is so weird to think that Abigail is closer to one year than she is to being born. I remember a friend saying that they would think "This has been my favorite month." and then the next month they would think "No THIS has been my favorite month."  and so on. It's so true!!! I think it's because you just love them more and more every day and each day there is something new that Abigail wasn't doing the day before. As always, this month was full of changes.
How can you not smile when you see that face?!?
Cool dude:)
At 7 months, Abigail weighs in at 14lbs 1oz. We do not have a doctor's appointment this month so we're not sure of her height or percentiles. Abigail is still in 3/6 month clothes...mainly 6 month because that's the size of her summer attire. She still wears her 3 month pajamas though. Abigail is also still wearing size 1 diapers, even though she is 14lbs. I don't really trust the weight charts on those diapers. Apparently according to her weight, she's supposed to be in size 2, but the size 2 pretty much covers her chest!

Abigail is eating food now!!! Yay! Abigail eats solid food 3x a day in addition to 4-5 milk feedings. (Most of the time lately she just passes out before her 7:45pm "snack".) We've tried bananas, pears, sweet potatoes, peas, rice cereal, applesauce, mango, cauliflower, plain greek yogurt, potatoes and eggs. Out of all of those, she'll pretty much only eat bananas, pears and greek yogurt. Picky little girl:) If you give her something that she doesn't like, she'll spit it in her hands and then wipe it all over her face! Needless to say, we are having to bathe her a little more frequently! Abigail also makes this funny gagging sound and face just to make sure you know she doesn't like it! We are definitely surprised that she doesn't like a couple of the foods we've tried. We thought FOR SURE she would like applesauce....I mean...what kid doesn't like applesauce??? The peas...yeah...one can assume a baby is not going to like those...they don't look appealing in the least, but applesauce and sweet potatoes??? We're still feeding her from the Bumbo, but we don't think a high chair is too far off. During dinner, we sit her in the middle of the table. Cute little centerpiece, don't you think?!?

Abigail is getting better at sitting up on her own every day. She can sit up and reach and hold onto toys and various objects, as well as transfer an object from one hand to another. Be careful what you put within her reach, because she'll likely grab it and put it in her mouth:) She loves foil, plastic bags...pretty much anything that crinkles and makes noise. She'll still topple over with a quickness, or a care in the world, so you really have to stay right next to her.
Abigail still has pretty much the same favorite toys. By far, her most favorite toy is still her musical book that lights up. She gets a big smile across her face whenever she sees it. Abigail also still loves her Baby Einstein music/light toy and her elephant with crinkly ears. Some new favorites are her doggy that sings and plays music, her play mat, and her jumperoo and yup...you guessed it....they all light up and play music. Can you sense a pattern??? One of her other favorite things is the hair dryer. It seems to soothe her, which is nice because otherwise I think I would always have wet hair! Above all, she would rather be held than anything else so if you can hold her AND she can play with one of her favorite toys....she's one happy baby...of course there are always exceptions...:)
Abigail is getting a little...and I stress little...better at sleeping. She is currently sleeping in a bassinet with a changing table inside next to our bed. Why the changing table you ask??? It creates a crevice to help her to sleep and stay on her side. That is her favorite way to sleep. She can also sleep on her back. If she sleeps on her back, she always puts her arms over her head. So cute:) When she wakes up in the middle of the night (which is frequent), I just pull her back over onto her side and she'll typically go back to sleep. Sometimes it takes a second and just one roll over and other times I have to roll her over a gazillion times...yup...gazillion is a word:) Abigail goes down at about 7:45-8:00pm and is pretty much awake or is waking up SEVERAL times by 4:00am or 5:00am, but we try not to get her out of bed until 6:00am or sometime after if possible. Sometimes it works and sometimes not so much.

Abigail is extremely nosy and observant. If you're doing something, she wants to know about it. We think that may be a part of her sleeping problem....she just doesn't want to miss out on anything:) Abigail loves to sit on the front porch and watch all of the cars go by. We think she may run for president of the neighborhood watch. She certainly knows what's going on:)

Abigail started going to church this past month. Unfortunately she's having a rough time with being in the nursery. When Colin and I dropped her off last week, Abigail was the first one there. When we left, Colin made the joke that the nursery woman should call in for backup because she didn't know what she was getting herself into! Little did we know how true this statement would be. When we went to go pick her up, she was in total meltdown mode. Neither one of us had ever seen her like that. (I mean...she's melted down with us plenty of times...don't get us wrong...but just not like THAT.) Apparently she was like that for most of the time. So this Sunday we're going to try something different and keep her with us. She has a new friend that stays during the service so hopefully they can keep eachother entertained! (They're only a week apart...so cute!) They play a lot of music in the first half so hopefully she'll like that! We'll see how it goes:)
Abigail still loves to be out and about, whether it's going on walks or going to the store. She loves to see all of the new people and surroundings so we try and schedule at least one outing a day. I think it's good for Mommy's sanity as well:)

Happy 7 months, Little Love! You bring so much joy to our lives. We miss you like crazy if we're apart for only a second. You always bring a smile to our face. We love you SO SO SO much! xoxo

Grandmother week:)

Abigail hit the jackpot this week and had BOTH grandmothers here during the week! Lucky her and lucky Mom and Dad! As always they are so helpful. Meme spray painted out book shelf, gardened for us, and our personal favorite...took Abigail at 6:00am so Mommy and Daddy could get an extra hour of sleep! Yay! It's incredible what an extra hour can do for you! Grandma cooked dinner for us, cleaned and did some shopping for us. Yes...we agree...we are spoiled!!! We love that they live close by. We are SO thankful to have such kind, caring grandmothers that  love us SO much and do SO much to help us out. THANK YOU!!!
Playing with Meme:)
Not the best quality but I just love this picture. Look at the way Abigail is looking at Meme...so cute:)
Grandma and Abigail bonding time:)
Looks like they are having a serious conversation. I'll clue you in...Abigail is saying "Give me your watch!" Abigail LOVES jewlery:)

Father's Day Weekend

The weather this past weekend was GORGEOUS! It was sunny and warm without being too hot. We started off this beautiful weekend with a trip to the farmer's market. Colin and I love going to farmer's markets and of course Abigail loves being out and about. We were on the hunt for more food for Abigail as well as ingredients for gazpacho (one of my personal favorites!). I guess we should have done more research for what was in season right now...I picked out 4 tomatoes and 3 cucumbers and went up to pay....when the girl said "That'll be $28.00" I almost passed out! Apparently they were Greenhouse Tomatoes whatever that means??? I do know that that meant we were putting them back for us!

We then headed home and to the pool soon after. All conditions were perfect....good nap+good eating+good weather does not, however, mean good pool time. Abigail=not such a fan of the pool:( We got there and she started fussing about 2 minutes later. Colin and I are praying things will be different at the beach?!? Needless to say, we don't have any pictures of our trip...none that anyone would want to see that is!

Sunday, Father's Day, was wonderful. We had both sets of grandparents over and Uncle Jay. We had SUCH a great time. Abigail was thrilled:) We sat on our back porch forever just chatting. It was so nice to just be together and to celebrate all 3 of the incredible fathers:)
We hope you all had a Happy Father's Day!!!
How cute are they?!?
Silly girl:)
Just precious
Although I do not have any pictures of them....I would like to give a big thank you to Grandma and Meme for all of your help with cooking and cleaning!!! xoxo

Happy Father's Day!!!

It's Colin's 1st Father's Day...yay!!!! Happy Father's Day, Love!!! Last year, on this special day, Colin and I shared the terrific news with our parents that we were expecting. Now we get the pleasure of celebrating Colin in addition to the other wonderful fathers in our lives.

Colin is just the best father to Abigail! I always knew he would be. He is so kind, gentle, patient...I could go on and on. Abigail just adores her father. Nobody can make her laugh like her Daddy:) Our most favorite times are when we can just be together as a family. Abigail is SO lucky to have such a fantastic daddy! Colin, we hope you know how much Abigail and I appreciate and love you!!!
Colin and I have the most incredible fathers. They introduced Colin and I, after all....9 years ago tomorrow as a matter of fact!:) Our fathers were such a BIG part of our lives growing up. Many children are not so lucky so we know what a blessing that truly is. They coached our teams, taught us how to ride bikes, played with us for hours and so on. These are memories we will cherish forever and have helped to influence the type of father Colin wants to be and is today.

Happy Father's Day!!! We love you all sooooo much!!!

Weekend at the lake

We LOVE going to the lake....so calm and peaceful. We didn't have anything going on this past weekend so we jumped at the opportunity. Saturday started at what looked to be a wash out and then turned into quite a beautiful day. Surprisingly no one was down at the pavilion so we had it all to ourselves BOTH days...yay!!!! Abigail had a blast! She loves being outside. She even took a couple of her naps down by the water. We had such a great time. It's always sad to leave. Thanks for having us Grandma and G-dad!!!
Doesn't it look like a backdrop??? It's THAT pretty there!
Abigail loves her grandparents:) Especially when they offer take her at 6:00am so Mommy and Daddy can sleep til 8:00! Thank you, Grandma and G-dad!!!
Playing in the water with G-dad:)

Another Milestone!

And we're up...sitting up that is! It's official...Abigail can sit up on her own now! She can even sit without using her hands AND reach for objects at the same time. Yay!!! You still have to stay right there because she can topple over without a moments notice.

Abigail is loving her Jumperoo! Colin and I had a feeling she would like it. What's not to like....movement, lights AND music??? Sounds right up her alley to me! She's still a little short for it so we had to put some boards underneath it so she can reach the floor. Hours of fun! Well....with Abigail it's more like 10 minutes of fun, but do you have any idea how much you can get done in 10 minutes??? I can sense all of the moms and dads nodding their heads:)

Our Weekend

We had such a wonderful weekend. The weather finally remained gorgeous throughout the week AND through the weekend. It was nice and toasty just like Mama likes it...perfect for the pool:) We lathered up our beautiful little girl, put on her adorable bathing suit and headed out. It's a quick walk from our house, which is so nice.

Daddy and Abigail enjoying the baby pool:)
Colin and I thought Abigail was going to absolutely love it because she loves her bath so much...things didn't go quite how we had planned. She didn't hate it, but she didn't love it either. We didn't start out on the best foot...too short of morning nap + sunscreen running into her eyes = one not so thrilled baby. She warmed up to it by the end but we're hoping to be more successful next time around.
Yup...matching suits:)
We also made our grand appearance back to our church. We had been looking forward to going for a while now, but we wanted to wait for the "right" time to take Abigail. We would be dropping her off in their daycare and Colin and I were just a little nervous about leaving Abigail with someone other than family. I almost broke down when we dropped her off:( They give you a pager in case they need you so that made us feel a little better. Service was great. I will admit that Abigail crossed our minds once or a thousand times during the service! When we went to go pick her up we immediately asked how she did...the sweet young girl laughed and nervously said "She fussed a little bit"....code for "She cried a lot ." That's our girl:) Abigail did look awfully cute, as always in our not so biased opinion:)
Dressed in her Sunday best:)
